Rae (Christina Ricci) is a promiscuous girl, who is known around town by all the men. Her boyfriend (Justin Timberlake) is called to duty by the military. Upset by his call of duty, Rae sleeps with a number of guys and decides to intoxicate herself into oblivion. After a wild party, she is raped and dumped on the side of the road. Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson), a God-fearing man, finds Rae along the side of the road and nurses her back to health. He finds out that Rae is a loose girl, and chains her to a radiator. Rae tries to break loose, but is calmed by Jazz music produced by Lazarus. Things are nursing back to health until her boyfriend arrives back early from his tour.
