Sonny (Colin Farrell), Rico (Jamie Foxx) and their team are undercover Miami cops whose operation is interrupted with a cryptic message: FBI Agent Fujima (Ciaran Hinds) asks Sonny and Rico for help. They agree and are sent into a world of drugs, sex and deception. Rico and his wife Trudy (Naomie Harris), also a team member, move into a house to build their cover story. Sonny and Rico get a meeting with the head of the operation, when they get into a spine-tingling incident. They identify the boss "Angel" Montoya (Luis Tosar) and partner Isabella (Li Gong). They move deeper into the operation and Sonny starts a relationship with Isabella that becomes deadly. When Sonny and Rico are in mid-shipment they get a call that Trudy is kidnapped and will be killed. A big explosion of action erupts leading the movie into dramatic suspense and a volatile ending.
